Localization
Doing business in Asia, and especially in countries like Japan and China, means an immediate need to use the local spoken language!
To believe that English might be used and understood (even for a classic PPT presentation) is wrong and may lead the business to a path where the potential of the products will be badly exploited or, in the worse case, to an impasse !
In the countries covered by Euro-Far East (Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan), in general the peoples do not speak English (or any Western language) and have difficulties to read English texts (they will usually translate them first before reading the translated texts !). We will always strongly stress the importance to provide local languages support and, consequently, localization of software.

Main tool used for Software Localization
TRADOS - Localization by using a Translation Memory technology : By using this "translation assisting technology", a sentence once translated is stocked in a database called "translation memory" and is re-usable (the same sentence never as to be translated twice) ! This is especially effective for software and manuals in which similar sentences are repetitively used as it is often the case in the Online Help. Another immediate advantage of the "translation memory technology" is seen during the localization of further updates or upgrades.
